Preliminary Task
Before we could start filming our own opening sequence we first had to learn the ropes of camera work. Our main focus was continuity and making sure that the shots made sense. Our task was to use a wide range of shots to create a short conversation. Watch our video below...

Our task was all about how to film a conversation using the 180 degree angle shot. If you travel past this 180 degree line the shots no longer make logical sense. We also used a range of camera shots to practise angles. We used a Long/Mid Shot as he walked down the hallway and a Mid Shot as he entered the door. We then did a range of over the shoulder shots and close ups. These shots will be very useful when we film our own opening title sequence.

The 180 degree line is a basic guideline regarding the on-screen spatial relationship between a character and another character or object within a scene. An imaginary line called the axis connects the characters and by keeping the camera on one side of this axis for every shot in the scene,If the camera passes over the axis, it is called jumping the line or crossing the line.
